![]() ![]() ![]() When doing this I had to amend the boot line with “nomodeset” to boot the LiveUSB to GUI since my video drivers didn't load the first couple of times I tried. I changed the BIOS boot order to first boot from external drive using UEFI. I used a LiveUSB of Linux Mint 15 with Cinnamon since I have no optical drive. I wanted to use Linux and decided to give Mint a go (I've also used Fedora and Centos but on another machine that died). I just bought a new Sony Vaio Pro 13” last week with intel wireless, intel integrated graphics, touchscreen, full HD resolution, i5 1.8GHz (4th gen), 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD, Windows 8 pre-installed.
